Proper dress is required at all times. Appropriate dancewear enables the student to participate fully in class and maintain a disciplined attitude. Street wear and loose or baggy clothing hinders the teachers' ability to monitor body placement and make the appropriate corrections. In order to maintain uniformity, please follow the dress code outlined below. For your convenience, all supplies are available to order through the KMC Pro Shop.

Class Etiquette ( Printable Version )

ü  Please be prompt and arrive at least 10 minutes prior to class commencing. If for some reason you are expecting to arrive late, please wait until music is finished- knock on door softly- then enter the class.  If you cannot attend class, please call to leave a message with our front desk to inform the instructor of your absence. If your child misses 2 consecutive classes and the office has not been contacted, an office administrator or your dance instructor will follow-up with a phone call.

ü  Please eat and use the restroom before arriving at the studio or after being dismissed.
No food, beverage, or gum will be permitted in the classroom.
However, we do encourage our students to bring water bottles to stay well hydrated.
We are a ‘WATER ONLY” studio.

ü  Come to class fully prepared and ready to dance!

ü  Enter the classroom in a neat, clean Leotard & Tights.
Hair must be pulled back & secured from face and neck prior to starting class.

ü  Label all belongings with your name!

ü  Please respect the lobby & classroom.  Please keep all belongings neatly stored in your class cubbies.

ü  NEVER leave the classroom until class is dismissed or without your teacher’s permission.
If you need to visit the restroom or wish to have a water break you must ask your teacher for dismissal.

ü  Please keep cell phones off or silent while in class.

ü  Please always remain respectful of your art, your teachers & your fellow classmates.
Treat them with the same respect you wish to be treated with. Anyone not abiding by these rules will politely be asked to excuse themselves from the classroom until the behavior improves..
KMC DANCE encourages positivity & a “can do” attitude.
KMC DANCE staff expects 100% of your energy and cooperation!

ü  Please check dance bags, the bulletin board & EMAILS for ALL DANCE RELATED notices!!

ü  Do not miss class unless absolutely necessary. Progress depends heavily on proper attendance. Even if you are ill  (unless contagious) please do your best to make the class and watch to learn.

ü  Missed classes must be made up within 30 days. The studio office can help you select the appropriate class for make-ups. Please inform the instructor if you are visiting for a make-up class.

ü  DO NOT TALK DURING CLASS. But, please always feel free to ask your teacher questions PERTAINING to class content.

ü  Be sure to thank your teachers after each class. They will appreciate your thoughtfulness.

ü  PRACTICE! PRACTICE! PRACTICE!
Home Practice plays a vital role in class advancement. Each student must take the responsibility to learn techniques properly and thoroughly by: attending classes regularly, allowing time for personal practice, and practicing faithfully and sincerely.

KMC DANCE Staff will be following a “THREE STRIKES” policy this year!!
After the 3rd consecutive tardy arrival or absence, a meeting will be called among the student, family & instructor to discuss the situation and discover a fair & reasonable solution.
Successive tardiness or absences during “recital season” could result in removal from sections of choreography.

Annual Recital ( Printable Version )

The recital is an exciting event and a special goal the students work hard for all year. This is a remarkable opportunity for your children to shine and show you the progress they have accomplished.

The recital is held in June. More details and definite dates will follow.
We ask that once the date is announced, and you have committed to it,
that you please schedule all summer family vacation plans accordingly,
as all rehearsals and shows are MANDATORY.

We ask that you please abide by the given policies of our school. Remember that although the study of dance should be taken seriously, it is our mission to provide classes that are warm and inviting, nurturing and caring, where your children can enjoy spending hours becoming a dancer! And also to provide you with a fun and professional facility... a place where your children can learn & explore the art of dance and all that it has to offer. A place where we can all LEARN, GROW, AND HAVE FUN!
